The Galatasaray kit of the 2000 UEFA Cup

In May 2000 the side of coach Fatih Terim made history. The UEFA Cup final in Copenhagen against Arsenal ended 0-0, and Galatasaray won the penalty shoot-out, with Gheorghe Popescu scoring the decisive kick. The team featured Gheorghe Hagi, Hakan Şükür, goalkeeper Cláudio Taffarel, Ümit Davala and Okan Buruk. In August 2000 they added the European Super Cup against Real Madrid, decided by a Mário Jardel golden goal. A Galatasaray home shirt from those years, in the classic red and yellow halves, is for many collectors the finest shirt in Turkish football history.

Sneijder and Drogba: the 2013 Galatasaray shirt

In January 2013 Wesley Sneijder arrived from Inter, with Didier Drogba following shortly after. Again under Fatih Terim, Galatasaray reached the Champions League quarter-finals and beat Real Madrid 3-2 in Istanbul, with goals from Emmanuel Eboué, Sneijder and Drogba. Shirts from that period are made by Nike with Türk Telekom on the front. Sneijder stayed until 2017, winning two league titles and three Turkish Cups.
