Retro Willem II shirts: the Tricolores from Tilburg

Willem II is the pride of Tilburg. The shirt with the red, white and blue stripes, which gave the club its nickname 'the Tricolores', is one of the most recognisable in the Netherlands. In this collection you will find original retro Willem II shirts and vintage Willem II shirts.

Three league titles and two cups

Willem II have been champions of the Netherlands three times: in 1916, 1952 and 1955. The club also won the KNVB Cup in 1944 and 1963. Those trophies place Willem II among the oldest and most successful clubs in the south of the country.

Overmars, Stam, Hyypiä and the Champions League

In the 1990s Willem II was a stepping stone for players who later reached the world's elite. Marc Overmars played there before moving to Ajax, and Jaap Stam left for PSV after one season, on his way to Manchester United. The Finnish defender Sami Hyypiä spent four years in Tilburg and went on to win the Champions League with Liverpool. In 1998/99 Willem II finished second in the Eredivisie under Co Adriaanse, behind Feyenoord. As a result, the club played in the Champions League in the 1999/2000 season, with group matches against Bordeaux and Spartak Moscow, among others. For fans from Tilburg, a vintage Willem II shirt from that period is priceless.

From the cup final to Europe

In 2005 and 2019 Willem II reached the KNVB Cup final, against PSV and against Ajax. In the 2019/20 season the club finished fifth under Adrie Koster, earning a place in the Europa League qualifying rounds.
