Retro West Ham United shirts: claret and blue from East London

West Ham United is the club of East London, known for its claret and blue shirts, the song 'I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles' and an academy that gave England a string of top players. In this collection you will find original retro West Ham shirts and vintage West Ham United shirts, from the 1990s to recent seasons.

1966 and the Academy of Football

West Ham don't call themselves the 'Academy of Football' for nothing. In the 1966 World Cup final, three of the club's players were in the England side: captain Bobby Moore, Geoff Hurst, who scored a hat-trick, and Martin Peters, who also scored. A year earlier West Ham had won the Cup Winners' Cup at Wembley against 1860 Munich. The FA Cup followed in 1980, with a header from Trevor Brooking against Arsenal.

The 1990s: Pony, Dagenham Motors and Redknapp

In the mid-1990s West Ham played in Pony shirts, with Dagenham Motors on the chest. Players such as Julian Dicks and goalkeeper Luděk Mikloško were fan favourites at Upton Park. Under Harry Redknapp a golden generation then came through the academy: Rio Ferdinand, Frank Lampard, Joe Cole, Michael Carrick and Jermain Defoe. Together with Paolo Di Canio they played around 2000 in the Fila shirt with Dr. Martens as sponsor. A vintage West Ham shirt from those years is a genuine piece of Premier League history.

From Upton Park to the London Stadium

In 2006 West Ham reached the FA Cup final, which was lost to Liverpool on penalties. In 2016 the club said goodbye to the Boleyn Ground at Upton Park, where it had played for more than a hundred years, and moved to the Olympic Stadium, the London Stadium. In that final season Dimitri Payet shone in the Umbro shirt.

2023: European glory in Prague

Under David Moyes, West Ham won the Conference League in 2023, beating Fiorentina 2-1 in Prague. Jarrod Bowen scored the winner in the final minute, and captain Declan Rice lifted the trophy in his last match for the club. It was the club's first major European trophy since 1965.
