Retro Lazio shirts: the sky-blue eagles of Rome

Lazio is the oldest club in Rome, recognisable by its sky-blue shirt and the eagle on the chest. The years around the turn of the millennium in particular, when Lazio had one of the strongest sides in Europe, produced beautiful collector's shirts. In this collection you will find original retro Lazio shirts and vintage Lazio shirts.

1974: the first scudetto

Under coach Tommaso Maestrelli, Lazio became champions of Italy for the first time in 1974. Striker Giorgio Chinaglia was top scorer and remains one of the club's greatest heroes to this day.

Eriksson, Nesta and the 2000 scudetto

In the late 1990s president Sergio Cragnotti, owner of food company Cirio, built a team of stars. Under Sven-Göran Eriksson, Lazio won the last ever Cup Winners' Cup in 1999, beating Mallorca 2-1 at Villa Park, followed by the European Super Cup against Manchester United. The double came in 2000: the second scudetto and the Coppa Italia. Captain Alessandro Nesta, Pavel Nedvěd, Juan Sebastián Verón, Siniša Mihajlović, Diego Simeone, Marcelo Salas and Roberto Mancini played in the Puma shirt with Cirio on the chest. A vintage Lazio shirt from these years is one of the finest shirts from 1990s Serie A.

Jaap Stam and the 2000s

In 2001 Lazio signed Jaap Stam from Manchester United. The Dutch defender played three seasons in Rome and won the Coppa Italia there in 2004. Under coach Roberto Mancini, Lazio reached the UEFA Cup semi-finals in 2003, with players such as Stefano Fiore, Claudio López and Bernardo Corradi.

Klose, Immobile and the 2013 derby

The most famous match in recent history is the 2013 cup final against city rivals Roma, won with a goal from Senad Lulić. In those years Miroslav Klose played in Rome. After that Ciro Immobile became the big star: in 2019/20 he scored 36 Serie A goals, equalling Gonzalo Higuaín's record, and won the European Golden Shoe. With Sergej Milinković-Savić and Luis Alberto he played under Simone Inzaghi in the Macron shirt.
